Abstract –

This research is focused on implementation of MRP while manufacturing of wiring harness. The problem in implementation of MRP is that a lot of wires are wasted in PVC coating, terminal crimping operation and other stations. The reason for this wastage is quality inspection of the wire harness on PVC coating and terminal crimping operation. Some wires and material is also wasted due to malfunctioning of machines. In order to minimize this material wastage proper lot size has been selected using regression analysis. Finally, a framework has been proposed to overcome the problem of material shortage before delivery.
