Abstract

This paper proposes two-phase order promising process in which available-topromise (ATP) are first reserved in phase I (called Allocated ATP; AATP) by applying fuzzy mathematical programming approach to meet the most important demand. Customer orders are promised in phase II according to time-phase manufacturing resource supply calendar and restricted via the AATP in phase I. The mixed integer linear programming is applied to optimize the allocation of available resources to meet customer orders considering constraints arising from mass customization such as customer have recognized material or capacity constraints. In this study,  reservation resources for customer given forecasted demand in phase I is also one reciprocal reservation mechanism that can stabilize production planning of both manufacturers and customers. One thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) manufacturing is taken as an illustration to demonstrate the validation of the proposed order promising planning mechanism.
