IMPLEMENTING A REAL-TIME SHOP-FLOOR CONTROL SYSTEM USING ZIGBEE-BASED NETWORKING SYSTEMS Kun-Yung Lu Department of Electronics Engineering National United University Miaoli (360), Taiwan MRPII 16
ABSTRACT This study presents a ZigBee-based wireless sensor network (WSN) system combined with an automatic data capturing system to establish a real-time shop-floor control system. The goal is aimed at enhancing the performance of shop-floor control (SFC) and providing a rapid response to customer requirements. The proposed system included a system simulator, job assignment module and network monitor module. System functions included network parameter settings, real-time system status sensing and data collection, intelligent event tracing and warning, and several responding mechanisms. The proposed system can simplify the implementation of an electronic production control systems and enables the shop-floor control more transparent and instant via a wireless networking infrastructure.
